tried to stay in canada for the last half-hour but failed with the version of “for free” by morning. a keen listener pointed out yOur hOst could have gotten from the sadies to the mitchell moment by playing the sadies version of “we are circling” with vocals/new lyrics by buffy sainte-maire. after which we could have played buffy sainte-marie’s reading of “for free”.  that’d be a lot of sainte-marie* for a late february saturday night.
